"I do not believe that civilization will be wiped out in a war fought with the atomic bomb. Perhaps two-thirds of the people of the Earth might be killed, but enough men capable of thinking, and enough books, would be left to start again, and civilization could be restored."

—Albert Einstein (1875-1955) German-born American theoretical physicist, theories of relativity, philosopher

Director's Note

Welcome to the Newberg Public Library!   We are pleased you have visited our online library and hope you will find a variety of useful tools and information resources here.

Currently we are working on a couple of projects to improve our services to you.   We've started the process to expand the Children's Area of the Library.  We've got the plans, now we just need to find the money!   You'll be hearing more about fundraising efforts for this worthwhile project.  If you'd like to help make it happen, please contact me.

We are also working with our local Kiwanis Club to refurbish the Library Annex and make improvements to our outdoor space, Carnegie Court.  The Kiwanis had a work day to paint and fix up the inside of the building.  This allows us to offer more activities and programs with the additional space.  We also installed a large, mechanized, movie screen outdoors at the Carnegie Court to use during our summer outdoor movies, Friday Night Flicks (see the home page for more info).  Thanks to Lewis Audio Video for donating the screen.  The Annex and Carnegie Court are located just across the Library's parking area.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns about the library, please feel free to contact me at 503-537-1256 or at leah.griffith@ci.newberg.or.us
